🇭🇺 Hungary recipe
Lekvár
Lekvár is the traditional Hungarian fruit butter, most commonly made from ripe plums that are cooked down for hours into a thick, deeply concentrated, and naturally sweet spread. Unlike jam, lekvár uses no added pectin and very little sugar, relying instead on the long, slow cooking process to achieve its characteristic dense, smooth texture. It is used as a filling for pastries, crêpes, and beigli.
