OriginEats (“we”, “us”, the “app”) is built to respect your privacy. This policy explains what information the app does and does not collect, and how it is used. By using OriginEats, you agree to this policy.

In short: OriginEats does not require an account, does not show ads, and does not sell your data. Most of your data stays on your device or in your own private iCloud account.

1. Information we do not collect

  • We do not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, or phone number to use the app.
  • We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

2. Data stored on your device

Your saved recipes, collections, cooking history, meal plans, and in-app preferences are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, this data is synchronized through your own private Apple iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit. We do not have access to the contents of your iCloud data; it is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

3. Subscriptions and purchases

Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment card details. Apple provides us only with anonymized transaction and subscription-status information needed to unlock and maintain Premium features. Purchase handling is subject to Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

4. Diagnostics and crash reporting

OriginEats does not include any third-party analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Diagnostic and crash information is processed only on your device and is not transmitted to us or to any third party.

5. Recipe images and content

Recipe images and content are delivered from our content servers. Standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) may be processed transiently by our hosting and storage providers for security and delivery purposes; we do not use these logs to build user profiles.

6. Children’s privacy

OriginEats is a general-audience cooking app and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your choices

  • You can disable iCloud sync at any time in your device settings.
  • You can delete locally stored app data by removing the app from your device.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID settings.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
