🇩🇪 Germany recipe
Lebkuchen
Nuremberg Lebkuchen are Germany's most revered Christmas confection, protected by a geographical indication since the 1600s. These spiced honey cakes trace their roots to medieval monastery kitchens, where monks combined precious spices from the East with local honey and ground nuts. The result is a soft, intensely aromatic cookie with a thin sugar glaze or chocolate coating, perfectly balanced between sweet, spicy, and nutty.
