🇬🇪 Georgia recipe
Churchkhela
Churchkhela is Georgia's ancient candy, a spectacular confection of walnuts threaded on a string and dipped repeatedly into thickened grape juice called tatara until coated in thick, sweet layers. Hung to dry for weeks, the result is a chewy, naturally sweet treat that has sustained travelers along the Silk Road for millennia. Often called Georgian Snickers, churchkhela is a staple of the autumn grape harvest season and no Georgian holiday is complete without them.
