🇲🇾 Malaysia recipe
Murtabak
Murtabak is a spectacular stuffed pan-fried flatbread that originated in the Middle East and was perfected in Malaysian mamak stalls. Paper-thin dough is stretched by hand, filled with a spiced mixture of minced meat, onions, and beaten eggs, then folded into a parcel and fried on a hot griddle until crispy and golden. Cut into squares and served with curry sauce and pickled onions, it is street food at its most theatrical.
