🇦🇷 Argentina recipe

Chocotorta

Chocotorta is Argentina's unofficial national dessert, a brilliantly simple no-bake chocolate cake that every Argentine knows how to make. Layers of chocolate cookies soaked in coffee are stacked with a luscious filling of cream cheese and dulce de leche, then refrigerated until the cookies soften into a cake-like texture. Invented in 1982 by a Buenos Aires advertising executive for a Chocolinas cookie campaign, it has since become the most popular birthday cake and celebration dessert in the country.
