🇱🇰 Sri Lanka recipe
Pittu
Pittu is a traditional Sri Lankan staple made by steaming a mixture of roasted rice flour and freshly grated coconut in a cylindrical bamboo or metal mold. The result is a log-shaped cake with a unique crumbly yet moist texture that absorbs curries beautifully. Pittu can be made with red or white rice flour, and it appears at both breakfast and dinner. Breaking open a steaming hot pittu and pouring coconut milk or curry over it is one of Sri Lanka's greatest simple pleasures.
