Flan Napolitano
Flan Napolitano is Mexico's most popular dessert, a luxuriously silky custard enriched with cream cheese that gives it an incredibly dense, creamy texture far richer than a standard flan. A layer of amber caramel coats the bottom of the mold, and as the custard bakes in a gentle water bath, magic happens: the caramel liquefies and pools beneath the custard. When unmolded, the flan emerges glossy and golden, with a river of bittersweet caramel cascading down its sides. Every Mexican family has their own recipe, and this version, enriched with both cream cheese and condensed milk, is the most beloved.
