🇨🇭 Switzerland recipe
Raclette
Originally a shepherds' meal in the Valais Alps where a half-wheel of cheese was held near the fire and the melted surface scraped onto bread and potatoes, raclette has become one of Switzerland's most beloved social dining traditions. The name comes from the French racler, meaning to scrape. Today, individual portions are melted in small pans under a tabletop grill, but the soul of the dish remains the same: gloriously melted cheese over simple, honest accompaniments.
